FWIW, in a family driving enviroment, the tip in my Mom's
Passat GLX 4-motion seems appropriate and fine. It's a bit
slow shifting, but it's relatively easy to select whichever gear
you desire, so you CAN bomb exits from turns with some
vigor, and without upsetting a 75 year old mother.
