Yes poke the cowl drain rubber grommet out of the car.
 I am 100% sure that is where it came from and it will
as someone else said go to the low spot.

I've taken the drain out of past 5KTQs, my '91 200 and
my S4.  Also my wifes '98 A4 and my daughters '02 A4. 
I called my brother and told him how to get it out of
his 2.7tt A6 and his friends 4.2 A6.

With 9 days of rain and crud in the cowl, and we have
it, will never drain as fast as it rains.

BTW, I work at an Audi dealer and this isn't news to
us.

Everyone do it.  There is no point in controlling the
rate that water leaves the cowl is there?
