A bad Cam Positioning Sensor will not make the car stall, if it fails while
the car is running the ECU will throw a code and store it, however the car
will continue running. If you stop the car *might* not start again...
What you describe could be...
#1 Failed fuel pump (if it had been stored for a while...)
#2 Woodriff key sheared off the crank pulley from incorrect installation
after timing belt job...
#3 Failed POS device (less likely)
#4 etc... list help :-)
I'd be highly suspect of a dead ECU after a timing belt job and only 6 miles
of running fine.

OK,first thanks all for the help.
Now to answer some questions
The car was very well maintained, just had the Timing belt job done and
always all preventive maintenance was done,i saw the records and spoke
to the mechanic who did the work,a top guy from a top Audi dealership.
the car was always keep in a garage, the last owner had it for over 7
years.
the car ran fine, boost was fine as far as i could tell,
just the first day i had the car on the road it went a fine 6 miles then
i got to a light and it stalled, never to start again, needed to tow it in.
did this help?
