Evan,

I just went through rear caliper rebuilt.
Those carriers (with pins) have nothing to do with calipers. This is 
separate piece.

Cleaning them up and replacing boots/grease should do the job.
autohausaz.com sells those kits for about $5 each(PN 443698470). You need 
two
It's 2 boots and 2 lock bolts with grease per kit.

Mine was rusty at the ends but they wasn't bad at all. I cleaned them up 
from old grease and rebuild them using new grease/boots.

BTW, had same problem with RR caliper eating pads.
I did complete calipers rebuilt + replaced eBrake cables.
Don't want to come back again in near future :)
