[s-cars] FMIC - choices?

Among the vast amount of stuff I've read, I have found that folks like to
talk about their FMIC. But rarely do they talk about from whom they've
purchased one.
 I found that 034EFI sells one for $1200. Is that the only one? The best
one? The easiest to install?
 I suppose I could troll Audiworld or s-cars.org <http://s-cars.org> for a
used one, but I doubt seriously I'll find one. I've also heard of
homebrewing my own, but I don't know how to do metal fabrication, so that's
gonna be tough one.
 Any advice?

 P.S. Thanks for the oil info - it wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined it
could be. :)
