No.  I grabbed the blower by hand and simply pulled it up.  I then used two bungee cords (hooked to the blower housing and a hole in the hood) to hold it in place while I worked on the bottowm screw and finally the blower housing. 

I did have to remove the blower flap motor in order to get the flap out of the way, thus providing enough clearance to get the blower out.
