  Maybe something new, I just installed a new factory Mahle air filter in my

RS2 equipped S6. I noticed that the course plastic screen on the Turbo side
(mass flow exit) had a hold and some dangling pieces of plastic. The intake
side from the airbox into the Mass Flow was fine so it wasn't something that
was sucked through the mass flow. I just went ahead and removed the rest of
the plastic screen on the exit side but left the other side in as it looked
fine. I will definitely keep and eye on it though. So I guess a few pieces
of the plastic did get sucked into my Turbo but I didn't pull the boot yet
to visually check the whole thing out. I'm sure the intercooler would filter
those pieces so they wouldn't get into the engine but I'm not sure how much
damage a couple of little pieces of that thin plastic would do even if they
did enter the intake? Something for others to check. I guess the metal
screen on the stock MAF is definitely more sturdy.  MGH
