[s-cars] 245/40 on 17x8 40mm offset

The brakes have no effect on what wheel/tire combo will fit in the
wheelwells.

As for brake clearance, that is totally dependent on the wheel in question.
You
cannot generalize by wheel size and offset what will clear brakes.

Maybe if you clue us in as to which wheel you're considering, we would be
able to give more info.
