Doing it right, the tech should be cutting the glue seal from the inside of the car. The hack will try and cut from the outside, typically scratching your paint... and then he'll try and pry it free... more damage.

Hap's recent comments, while parked at Elite Auto Glass...
Anyone in the CO area needing a windshield, talk to Elite. I just
recently had mine done, and it cost $240 and change. There was no
additional charge for them to do it at my home to boot.
On top of that, I had an absolutely excellent tech (Anthony Chumley) who
performed the work. He had firsthand knowledge of Audi A pillar trim
removal, and was very cautious throughout the job... no prying tools
used, no damage done.
At that cost, and for that kind of service... 2 thumbs up in my book.
