That's because you are using 88 ft/sec * 0.2 seconds. Now, if 
you apply the new math they're teaching these days, you need 
to recognize that mSec is really a metric second, so you need 
to divide the 17.6 feet by 60 (the Imperial second to metric 
second conversion factor) to arrive at .293 feet or 3.52 inches.

Now, if it were 17.6 feet, that's the difference between 
a bad accident and an almost accident.
