Do a "2.5 liter stroker" archive &/or google search. A lot of this has been
written about extensively oh, @ 4-5 years ago. Don't ask me why I would
know this :-)
The stroker block, BTW is theoretically not useless. Not that anyone has
gone that way, but if you can solve the timing belt problem, the block and
it's slightly longer rods could be used. I think someone in Italy went this
way. Never did hear how successful it was though. There is/was one
particular tuner in England, ?? TSR or some thing like that, specializing in
head work and naturally aspirated Audi stroker conversions. Then there's
Roger Løfald's version/recipe with, I believe "....using low comp Wiseco
pistons made for 2.2 that gives ~8.5:1 comp in 2.5 and custom ~155mm Auto
Verdi rods. Block has to be welded a small bit to match the head. Put on a
20v head gasket and it's easy to locate the spot. A oil return channel in
the block has to be blocked and you have to use custom 12mm (instead of
11mm) head bolts. You can use a ARP head stud kit for BMW 3.5L :-) , but you
must bore out the head for the larger bolts/studs. ...." Check out the
archives, if there are any on the Audi20V_Kruemmer group
Last, but certainly not least, there is the great white north's one and only
Joseph Vella's turbo stroker monster. Joe is on the SOS (? Southern Ontario
Canada) Audi list/site.
If you look around, there are some others as well. IIRC, there's one in, or
near Lexington, Kentucky and ...?
