If that works, we're good to go.  The only downside is letting the car get real cool.  I 'spose I could bring the tools down there, or you could leave it here overnight.

I've used this procedure several times on the S4s, I like to remove the
radiator and a/c condenser
when doing the timing belt service, thus the need to discharge and recharge
the a/c system.
Note the need for proper a/c equip, knowledge to use it, and the safety
warnings.
The port on the compressor is not a low side port. It's all done thru the
high side port on the
condenser.
