S-Heads-
Been folowing this thread with interest, ie. heard
about it, never saw it, didn't think I had it....
Thanks to all with the deinstall instructions.
Oh momma!!! I pulled that thing out, it was CAKED with
stuff, you name it, leaves, dirt, a napkin!!!
Tons of crap!! I'm positive it's never been changed,
EVER. Once I got it out I looked inside the box...
Holy leaf blower batman!!! There were enough leaves
and the aforementioned napkin to fill, well you get
the idea....
My crevice attachment for the shopvac wouldn't reach
all the way in so I had to resort to extreme
measures..
Ok, climb upside down under the glove box, open glove
box, voila, there it is, the holy grail, er, uh, the
trap door for the airbox, open it, stick house vac
nozzle in there, OK, sucked all the big stuff out.
Now, how to get the all broken leaves caked in the
bottom..... Hmmmm, this calls for some real ingenuity,
riiiiiight?
Turn shop vac into a 200mph blower, turn on house vac
while it's shoved in the trap door, we have ignition
Houston. Again, oh momma, stuff was blowing everywhere
but I managed to contain it pretty well.
Took said caked filter, vacummed it with crevice tool,
shoved it back in until new one comes. Put everything
back together, start ignition, turn on fan.. The
difference before and after? A mild breeze vs a stiff
wind might sum it up....
Brian
