Craig,

I'm near Chicago and have a similar setup, 95.5 S6, and at testing 107K
miles, RS2 turbo and exhaust with Minhea recommended injectors and his generic
RS2 software. My last pollution test was;" HC Limit 220 - my reading 8, CO
limit 1.2% - my reading 0.0%, CO2 Limit n/a - mine 14.6%." I did not do
anything special. I think I changed the plugs and air filter at 101K miles and I
did not drive the car on high speeds before the testing. I do not know how
this information helps you but I would rule out Mihnea's tuning as being a
problem. BTW, I get about 19 mpg in all around driving. I get 30+ in my Boxster
at >75mph (only did this once in 9 years and 62K miles).

Hey Baloney when do you want to do lower Wacker at Hap scaring speeds?

Regards,

Mark near Chicago
Now with 127K miles and I don't care what my car is worth - It's not perfect
and it's not for sale.

BTW 2001 Grginch Zinfandel, Napa Valley - Dominicks $32. is great. ENJOY.

Gentlemen,

Been meaning to throw this one out to the list brains for awhile,
thought I'd better before half of our collective brainpower gets
mired in //S-fest.......

My car has flunked the sniff test at our clean air police in WA state
twice now. Nearly 5% on the CO (1% max allowed), and just barely
passing HC (180/220). These are cruise (2500rpm) results. Idle
passes. A little history: MRC chip, RS2 Turbo/Mani, Lucas 37#
injectors. After tuning (1.5 tears ago), my car always ran rich, so
much that I would get soot on the bumper after two tanks of gas. MRC
provided a leaner chip - still had soot, and poor MPG (16 combined).

A new 1.8T coil pack cured a high boost miss, and alot of the soot. I
can still get the motor to ping during WOT however, and performance
is noticeably variable depending on outside temps. MPG unchanged.

I also now have a 1.5 year old Wahler thermostat going, as my temp
gage barely ekes out of the cold zone. However, sitting in wait for
the sniff monkeys, the temp did elevate to slightly hot, and I did
flog the car mightily just prior to the second test. Also, for the
second test, fresh Mobil 1 was in the sump.

Thoughts? Think the kittys are clogged from running rich? And what is
it with Audi thermostats??? That is one thing the 'Murcans can do
right...and A/C.....

Any input appreciated - soon - as the next couple weeks of bandwidth
will be //S-fest oriented, and rightfully so. I would love to go, and
look forward to reading about this years tomfoolery.

Regards,

Craig Lebakken
