Ah, finally, the GOOD stories of the event start to come out of you and
then Baloney, and RBF boy Sanchez. Keep the tales coming folks, and,
please oh PLEASE let's nuke that 'other' dead horse already. Please.
JAMU! SO great to see you again, and get to spend some good time
together this year! As I told you, the opportunity to whirl the //Smart
around was one of TWO highlights of the event for me. What an
experience!!! The other was, well, the spirited run in the recently
Stage III'd Rallye Golf. TOO COOL, thanks Steve Mills for burning too
much midnight oil and breaking that thing in via Maryland!
<<<Impressive>>> Despite what Chefbob says, it was just another Sunday
drive to church for me 8-). You all gotta see the shots of the //Smart
poised to push Bys' plow, drew quite the commentary over the dayze yes.
And, Jim, thanks for the kind words on my UrS. I don't 'want' to sell
it, but, 3x baby seats no longer fit in back once they forward face, and
wifey doesn't do so well with stick, let alone the clutch you now crave
heh heh. I ***dare you all*** to fill the potential car void by
answering the conundrum: $15k, newer than '95, < 100k, stick, holds 3x
seats, or, same parameters but AUTO (gasp, but then could trade off with
what's her face), and only 2 baby seats. My suggestion for the latter
that wifely has approved was met with mannnny frowns this weekend, but I
dig it regardless and don't care a lick. WE'LL SEE!
Oh, and Jim, sorry. Yeah, once you drive a car with a 'real' clutch
there's pretty much no return. Esp. one with a good and weighted SSK,
LWFW, and, 6spd. Certainly changes the driving experience of these
cars, certainly. Makes me choke when I get into one sans any of that,
same goes for an exhaust. A UrS simply needs those bases covered. Such
equipped, yeah, the shifting experience is pretty damn fun! I've taken
it so for granted as it's been in there so long, but on the way home I
kept hearing your words about it and thought, damn, he's RIGHT. Maybe I
won't sell it... dunno how, but...
Anywho... "official words" on the "rest" will follow some much needed,
um, work here, rest, and inspiration. I wanna hear it from what you
experienced first!

Subject: RE: [s-cars] //S-Fest - quick note
Well I do hope there is an //S-Fest '07, since this growing tradition
has been more about seeing old friends again, making new ones each year
as S-Fest grows, and learning new stuff about these aging UrS-Cars. It's
less about the aboundance and seemingly endless amount of food (was I
ever stuffed) and raffle items that I have no luck in winning... But
thanks so much for the entertainment of it, some folks sure have a
horseshoe up their keyster! (Uncle Bob should be banned from allowing
the South American Lucky Charm Beauty from holding his raffle tickets!)
So to all of you organizers, "A big thanks for another great S-Fest" the
biggest one yet, you guys Rock! (Paul, Bob, Jeff, Bys, etc.). The long
drive was certainly worth it! Good seeing my S-bud's again :-) Even
though I didn't bring my S-Car this year....the drive down, and back was
a blast!!! At ~$16 bucks in gas from Montreal to Connecticut and ~$16
back with all the free smiles, chuckles, and comments along the
way...who can complain ;-))
Vincent, merci mon ami for the caravan back! Glad I was able to keep up
to your S-Beotch, and even lead the way through the torrential rain a
few times ;-)
Paulie, thanks again for the flog of your fine S-Car...all I can say is
don't sell it, just keep moding that baby, that is a heck of a nice
S-Car!!! and damn you for making want a new clutch and LWFW now!!! Maybe
next year you can raffle one, and I could finally win something for once
;-)
Cheers, /Jamu.
P.S. To those that made the mess that I woke up to in the am... That was
just down right nasty!!! Thank God Bys, Paul, Bob, and a few others
didn't see the worst of it, that mess of mustard and mayo spewn across
his patio and chairs was just simply wrong... I mean I haven't seen a
food fight since the 5th grade! That must have been some helluva strong
moonshine to revert folks to that state of childhood... Makes me glad
this old man passed out early this time from all the S-Fest'ing... ;-)
P.P.S. Can't remember who made the passing comment in the a.m., but I
must agree: "that is the value of having a good bartender".
