Chris,
Real sorry to hear of your accident - glad that you are fine. There are not
many cars I would sooner been in if I was involved in an accident. I have a
nice clean stock (except for OZ wheels) S4, 237,000 km that I was
considering selling for $10,400 CDN (with a new windshield). I was offered
$11,000 CDN by a young guy who really wanted it. In the end I didn't sell
it. I guess your car is worth what somebody would have paid. Unless it has
been recently appraised you will likely have a battle with the insurance
company. Will they write it off, give you a settlement, allow you to buy it
for cheap, and you fix it with the settlement and help from the S-men?

Gentz,

earlier today my car met a guard rail while exiting the Ohio toll
road.
First I want to state I'm fine and the car faired much better than I
would have expected. I'll take pics tomorrow and post them for others
to see if they are interested.

Now for the story!
I was entering the exit ramp when the car "went right" and hit the
guard rail (on passenger's side of car). Because I was still at high
way speeds I hit the rail several times (the exit ramp curves) and
eventualy spun around hitting the driver's side on the guard rail.

At this time I'm not sure if my right front tire went down causing the
accident or if it's suspension related. Unfortunately I received a
ticket from the friendly Ohio State trooper for "failure to maintain
control of the vehicle". And yes I do plan on fighting this ticket.

My questions are:

What is the value of a clean 93 S4? car was clean with no body damage,
and fairly new repaint, 6 speed trans, new clutch, RSs specs with
garrett 3071 turbo, Samco hoses.

Are any of these parts going to be hard to get? I'll list all the
damage
I can think of.

Car has damage on all 4 doors
RF fender is crunched and may need to be replaced
RR quarter panel is damaged (but repairable)
LR quarter panel is damaged (but repairable)
front bumper is in pieces (needs to be replaced)
turbo crossover pipe came off and was run over (bent & needs to be
replaced)
grill is in pieces
front grill emblem is gone
RF turn signal is gone
All door trim is gone
Driver's mirror housing is cracked, mirror is gone, trim ring is gone.
4 bent steel wheels with Hakkas in unknown condition (now) one the RF
wheel is almost square!

That's all I can think of for now, looks like almost the entire car
will
need to be repainted.

I believe I need to be ready to fight the insurance company on the
value
of my car. It currently has 270,000 miles on it and prior to the
accident nobody would have guessed it. If the damage is a high enough
dollar amount to total the car I'll have to decide what to do. Jennifer
(my wife) wants an all road so I could always keep the car and move the

6 speed, turbo and RS2 parts to her 93 S4 and get her an allroad....
dunno got some thinking to do.

Any thoughts on value of a 93 S4 in good clean shape?
Who had the record of the sales of the S4's? I may have to prove to
the adjuster the car's value.

Any thought on whether any of the parts needed will be hard to get or
NLA?

Anyone have an allroad in alpaca beige for sale? :-)

Thanks
Chris
