[s-cars] Extended Warranty GP

Bruce really did his homework on the company - speaking with several shops, etc.
My '95 with less than 100k actually qualifies for one of the 36 mos powertrain warranties. It will cover only major stuff like tranny, steering rack, some suspension components, AC, etc. Cost is around $1000 w/$100 deductible and a $55 dollar an hour allowance. Its possible to upgrade to no dedictible and the hourly allowance as well (what shop works for $55 an hour now?).
Right now I'm sitting on the fence, but if a major component fails this will cover it. In the near future I'm looking at replacing my wife's '01 bmw and hoping to get three more good years out of my UrS (I mean how much more can it depreciate?). When I bought my car it had an extended warranty from the dealer. It just ran out last month. But it more than paid for itself and all warranty work was performed by the stealer. I kept from chipping/RS2'ing the car because it was clearly spelled out that it would void the warranty.
Only thing that's holding me back is that in the last month I've just spent too much on the car. Purchased a set of forged boleros, mtm 1+ chipset, vmap, rs2 chipset, alum intercooler (Brian did you send it?), Rs2 maf and all of the extra nuts, bolts and gaskets that didn't come with my NEA RS2 gasket/hardware kit. Oh and I had to buy a bedroom set for the wife too.

Paul, Bruce-
If you're reading this, how much research do you do into the company before
signing up?
I had an aftermarket extended warranty that I lost about $1k on because the
company
went belly up well before the warranty ran out and there is no recourse.
After that, I'm seriously
leery of signing up with any extended warranty unless I can get some sort of
guarantee that
there will be money to pay claims (a warranty for the warranty).
