[s-cars] 15" over Girlings

The last S-bitch invention in her never-ending quest of owner-puzzling:
wheel rubbing on caliper. I've had all my winter tires mounted on the same
15" steel rims since I've owned the car, for exactly 5 years and 4 days. And
this week-end, when I installed them, the inner lip of the front left rim
was rubbing on the caliper, just slightly rubbing, just enough to make the
S-bitch sounds like the old rotten beater it is, but I don't like when
people notice.

So, two questions:
- First, why the front left caliper is rubbing whatever the wheel I put on
when the front right caliper have a good 3mm clearance (the difference is
sideway, both calipers have a generous two clean hairs clearance in diameter
but it seems it's enough)? Both calipers are original G60 (I don't think the
PO would have changed a caliper before 60Kmiles and it would have been done
by the stealer anyway so, even as bad as they are, I hope stealers know what
an S6 caliper is or at least knew at this time), brackets come from the same
'93 S4, pads are three days, 20 miles old so they have the exact same
thickness, rotors are a few years old but rotor wear should move the caliper
inward not outward, yadda, yadda, yadda, everything is the same but one
caliper is rubbing. Why?
- Second, would a 10 spokes 15" 2001 A4 wheel or an 8 spokes 15" 1997 A6
wheel have enough clearance so I don't have to ask the first question
anymore?

Vincent puzzled once more by this way too much inventive S-bitch F.
