[s-cars] Surflex for Audi with ecru interior

i want to refinish the seats on my '92 S4 with ecru interior. the
leather surface is looking worn and cracks in the finish have developed,
although the leather itself seems to be OK (still fairly soft).

i recall that some listers have used surflex, so i contacted the
company that sells it. i asked whether they had ecru mixtures already
set up, and this is the reply i got:

> If you have a Reorder Number (on the can of Surflex) that one of these
> people could provide, I can work from that. However, every color has
> infinite variations, and the color I make would be accurate to that persons

> me a part like an armrest or ashtray cover.

what do you guys think? should i try to get a sample of my own, or is it
likely to be so close to others as to be a waste of time? can somebody
who's used surflex talk about how it turned out? did it look good? was it
worth the effort?

and if you got ecru surflex, can you send me the reorder number?

thanks,
teddy
