Well, one would say that it is less damaging to the ozone layer, and
your nervous system and liver.

But if folks take that to mean to use the non-chlorinated "safer"
stuff in the closed garage, then absolutely not.

In absolute terms, chlorinated solvents do more damage to you than
non-chlorinated ones.

I use chlorinated ones because I am a trained professional.  :P

Actually, only because chlorinated solvents do a very good job, leave
no residue, and are non-flammable (for the most part - not always
true.)  I use less overall solvent for that kind of work when I use a
chlorinate.

Danger always lies in the dose and manner of uptake.  Pretty much for
all things.
