One thing to take into consideration...
Diesel is great, I own one... but I am not looking forward to the repair
bills when they come, and they will come.
Maybe 10 years ago the diesels where better, now I think the big 3 have
gotten there rotten hands into them and made them all cheap. (JMHO)...
So, if you are not going to be doing an every weekend race circuit and only
using the thing from time to time I doubt the diesel offers any serious
savings (other than resale).
