[s-cars] Work vehicle advice needed

Well, don't make me sound that bad! :-)
The H2 is such a huge gas guzzler (10mpg) that I pretty much ruled it out
because
of that alone. Also, it looks like a big cartoon, not the image I'd want as
a work vehicle.
H1s are serious off-road military vehicles, they're not really made to tow-
that's probably
why the rating isn't great.
Actually, I see enough F-250s and Silverado 2500s around here that are just
used to go
to and from work- pretty much a light-duty usage. However, most of the
pickups I see for
sale are from Texas.
Is there some reason why all pickups are sold in Texas? Do they have really
lax title and
registration laws? I'm concerned about flood vehicles when they're that
close to New Orleans and the
Gulf Coast. I know Florida can be suspect.
