For those who are interested, I picked up an Ocean Blue 00 996 with 80K last Saturday.  Although the instant power of the non-turbo boxer six and its sound are intoxicating, the handling is what makes this car great.  The PO installed some type of radar detector, with two little lights in the center console.  From what I can tell, the lights represent front and back detection, and there are two little black boxes, one each in the front and rear bumper.  Any thoughts? - there is no id on the boxes.

Other impressions.  Porsche radios are cr*p.  I wish I had heated seats.  Why would you use suade for a roof liner?  The kids DO fit in the back.  Awesome brakes. Can't believe its mine :-)
