As for me, I went with Euro A6 HIDs from a 2000 & 2001. Happened to be
one from each. Only difference was in styling of decorative reflector
around the projector lens, which gets tossed anyway. Got them from
somebody in Belgium selling on German Ebay. Paid a total of $300
including shipping.

The Euro A6 HID projectors have a better light output than the US
versions, but they are a tight fit (had to do some slight modifying).
The light output is phenomenal, however, and it was well worth it. I
haven't seen any that are brighter or have a wider coverage. They're
better than S8, TT, or A4. You may want to check out the US A6 HID
projectors as A) they'd be more readily available than the Euro A6 or TT
units, and 2) I believe they're easier fit than the Euro A6 projectors.
I believe Paul K, Tom Mullane, and good ole Uncle Bob Pastore have all
used the US A6 versions, so any of them can give you info on hard/easy
it might have been to install.

You'll have to make some brackets to adapt the different mounting
pattern of the donor projectors. Don't know how the TT ones are, but
the A6 ones are definitely a different pattern. Then you'll have to
figure out how you want to feed the high tension wire through the
housing. Most folks have it come out the back cover. I went out the
side so that the back cover is free to be removed independently. As for
power, I brought the two wires going to the ballast into the housing
through a small whole and connected them directly to the wires that
power the stock low beam projector. Eventually I want to graft in the
fog light connector that is used on the S4 headlights (S6 headlights
delete this and have fog light circuit go through the main harness
connector to the lights), and use this as the pass through for powering
the ballasts.

I can also send you a little slide show of what I did to get mine to
fit. It's not a complete how to, just highlights some of the fit
issues. Also have a file that shows what the light output is like
compared to stock. I've had mine for 3 years now and I could never go
back to regular halogen lighting again. The big, big plus is in the
rain.

Mr. Doooooley:

First- Dooooo It.

2nd: All of what Blob said, esp. his last 3 sentences. Credit Senor
Bill Perron (urBill) with me brackets, me wiring pass through, etc.
Install is otherwise quick and very easy and near perfect. Like Bob I
paid I think $285 shipped for 2 separate '02 A6 4.2 units - tho that was
years ago. I think his euro units were slightly more clear / blue than
mine which were a tint more white comparatively.

III: Dooooo it! There's no looking back...

HTH, or something.

-Paul finally have something more halogen than the glorious
incandesantbrown candles in der TR3 this year K.
