Bob and bob,

While you have that other instrument panel, swap them to see if that
fixes the problem.  The service interval indicators are stored in the  
panel
itself.  All you lose is the trip mileage.   Then you will know if it  
is the panel
itself or something external.

I don't suppose you have any warning chimes that would be associated  
with
a light ?  That's how you know the bulb is out.  You are always doing  
the Steve
Martin/Bill Murray  SNL imitation of "What the hell is that ?" as you  
hear chimes
  but no clue where they come from.  The "bing, bing, bing" is  
significant, though.
