Yuck, I don't like Rain-X...(no offense intended). My preference is for
Aquapel, I believe it used to be marketed under an older name called
"STP Vision Blade" but it's hard to find. Put it on and it lasts for
about 6 months, it's very simple to apply.

Subject: [s-cars] Rain-X sludge?
This topic was covered a few years ago on the Q-list and i don't recall
the fix. For some reason, after a year of regular rain-x applications,
there seems to be an invisible film that develops that is difficult to
remove.
it's only noticable at night when the wiper blade sweeps past, there
seems to be a haze that develops then disappears after a few moments if
the wiper is on intermittent. If the wipers run constantly, the haze is
always there.
This happens mostly when the rain-x has worn off, reapplying helps.
Windex won't take it off, but what will? Anyone else notice this?
