There was a guy selling RS2 reproduction adapters for $100/set on ebay.  I might 
be able to dig up his name.  I bought a pair, and was the only buyer... he 
listed 10 sets.  They are really nice pieces from solid steel... certainly more 
sturdy than the factory item.

IMHO, $1500 for the whole kit is not bad. As Dave mentioned, you can piece
it together for less as long as you can get the brackets for a reasonable
price.
