[s-cars] Front brake research continues...

I think my head is swimming too.  I'm 95% sure I got my big reds from Pelican Parts (pelicanparts.com).  They are a regular advertiser in Excellence magazine... and used to offer these calipers for about $280 each.  Not sure what the deal is right now, but they show over $500 each right now.
 
Anyone got any ideas what happened to the pricing?  Doesn't seem like they should have doubled in 2 years.

It does, however, cost over $1000 for a pair of 993tt calipers.  Ummm,
isn't there some sort of cheaper source of these guys somewhere?  LOL.

Now, I was willing to pay $1500 for ECS Stage 2, but I thought the
993tt calipers were cheaper than the 996s.  My head is swimming.
