[s-cars] Check system

Bob,
Have you checked the bulbs for the check system? There should be two
bulbs back there, one with a red condom, one with a yellow. From what I
recall, with these blown, you will see nothing at the auto check system
display. Also, IIRC, swapping the condoms between bulbs was not an
option on mine, and I got fresh bulbs from the dealer, proper red and
yellow colors. Family pictures reveal 4A0 919 040A as 1.5watt red, and
4A0 919 040B as 1.5watt yellow bulbs.
For down and dirty testing, putting any working bulb in place of the bad
red/yellow ones will validate a bad bulb/good autocheck display.
Remember if you place the good bulb in place of the red colored one,
check it with the running lights on, and vice versa with the lights off
for the yellow bulb.
HTH,
Stott
