Hi Y'all,

Boost is back. The cause of my low boost problem:

1. The WGFV actually was dead or dying. It would not permit the
WG to operate properly and boost was limited to ~12 psig. R&R caused
a major and very satisfying but short term boost increase up to 27-28
psig. Then, with boost well into the 20's boost dropped again to the
same old 12 psig level it had been before working on the WGFV. What
a disconcerting feeling. :-(

2. A slightly loose clamp on the Michelin Man hose allowed the
hose to slip off the end of the crossover pipe when boost was
up. When boost dropped back the hose would slip right back onto the
crossover pipe. It looked and felt tight. I believe this started
when boost was up from the WGFV R&R.

The problem is solved. My MM hose will not bother me again since it
now resides in a box of used parts which includes the MM hose, the
crossover pipe, and the OEM intercooler and various and assorted
other minor pieces. My new FMIC is now installed (bought last summer
and FINALLY installed today). Boost is back and driving is once
again fun. YeeHaaa!!! :-D
