I use the Mann or Mahle filters and change my oil filter every other oil
change. I put 5k miles on Mobil 1, and 10k miles on each filter.

Just changed the oil last night too...

Ivan,

I like the Mann 719/30 long life filter, with the 2 year logo on the
side. At $6 each,
I don't leave them in for 2 years though. They are designed for
synthetic oil.
I've been using M1 exclusively, solely on availability and cost. The
PO used Castrol
5-50 so I have used M1 15-50 summers and 10-30 winters. Seems to
work for me.
I may not drive each vehicle 7K a year so I change seasonally, but
set the oil light at
6K km. I haven't gotten used to the look of high mileage oil. I
don't think 7K miles is
excessive highway miles, but don't recommend it for lots of stop-and-
go, short trip
city driving since I think that fits in the extreme conditions category.
