Since the filters are rated for 12k miles, and the service interval is
15, I figured 10k is OK. These are supposed to be good filters, I
wouldn't do it with an orange filter. It does make the oil change a lot
quicker, cleaner, and is a bit more environmentally friendly.
yeah, I write Tobs, pronounced with a long O, so I guess it should be
written Tobes. Nicknames tend to evolve. I've been called a lot of
things ;-)

I use the Mann or Mahle filters and change my oil filter every other oil
change. I put 5k miles on Mobil 1, and 10k miles on each filter.
Just changed the oil last night too...

Tobs (can I pronounce that "Tubbs" as in Sonny & Tubbs 8-)?)-
While I've heard going 5-7.5k intervals on M1 is a fine practice, I've
never heard of doing filters on an every other change basis. To the
Enginerds on the list, I ask, Is this a recommended practice?
I'd certainly love to forego that messy step every other 5k as 5k comes
so quick. Fumoto'd oil swap every other interval would take barely 2
minutes, that'd be sweet. I use the Mann filter and M1 10/30 every 5k
(seeing as I add a quart per 1k anyway)...
