It's easy. Porsche the engineering company wasn't reading the ad copy.
Some talking head from an ad agency was. He probably read a "-" as a
"/" and no one at the ad agency was smart enough to know the difference.
Obviously the engineering dept of Porsche doesn't get to review ads.
However, if you go to the General Admission link, which has no voice
over, you'll see the actual text and here at least, it's shown as 295
lb.-ft. And note the proper usage of "lb-ft" instead of the ubiquitous
erroneous usage of "ft-lbs". While it is a multiplication, and
therefore the numerical resultant is the same, the former denotes Torque
and the latter denotes Work. The two are not the same.
