note how much space they devote to the "diesel" truck oil....

"excellent thermal and oxidation stability.." and "shear stability"
means excellent HTHS..  too bad they didn't call it mobil-1 VAG-1.8T
5W-40..

the MSDS (material safety data sheet) reveals that it is 23% esters,
the stuff that makes redline so expensive.  this is absent in all
the other grades of M-1 which now uses a cheaper substitute.. M-1
numbers for high temperature protection has steadily fallen; it's
nowhere as over engineered as before as consumers keep insisting on
cheaper....

i just came across some pleasantly suprising information that shell
rotella made up of much humbler ingredients has much better low
temperature flow characteristics than M-1 diesel (formerly SUV)..
but not as sturdy at high temps...

well, that reinforces the idea that SUV/diesel is best for turbos,
rotella for atmospherics (due to lower price and better fuel economy)
