Finished!
After at least 8 hours work, mission accomplished. More importantly
nothing was broken more than it already was... or lost either.
All lenses and reflectors were disassembled and cleaned (water,
kleenex and an eyeglass lense cleaner) and euro e code lenses
installed. So, for about $300 I now have some rather new car looking
lighting.
Thanks for that 15o cut idea. Seems to work great and we'll see how
oncoming trafic feels about it, though it does through the light way
right, off road out of the way .. I think.
Though these light housings are a marvel of engineering, I have to
wonder why the adjusting gears fall off and the oem light was so dim;
Like hitting a homer and missing the bases IME.
I don't quite know what to do with the ballasts as one is stuck to
the forward side of the airbox and the DS just tucked behind the
pisser fluid for now. Might be best to add a piece of sheet metal
somewhere on the light housing to attach ignitor and ballast.

Ha BALONEY!
Thank you for posting a long-time no-Baloney report. Great to see some
continued 1/2 wit on da list these dayze. Heh, your "hitting homer and
missing the bases" is spot on yes heh heh, my adjusters disintegrated
ashes to ashes dust to dust. Least they did so 'in position' I guess.
Xe's / HIR high's / Ecode lenses is an ubersetup, enjoy. And I'd even
go so far and maybe dare guess it's better than my current incandescent
brown ur4kq 'light'.
I briefly debated snipping that cutoff mask or swapping it for some
e-eyeballs I had but aborted the though, as in, too much thought. Tho
that e-eyeball adjuster is a pretty cool engineering set up.
Ballasts... yours sound as installed as mine ever got. "Yeah I'll just
mount them up later".
Make shure you add 50W halogen reverse's if you haven't yet... can't
have ultimate frontage sans some decent rearage now can you?...
specially thru tinted glass.
Humph. Ya's know's ya's had yer car awhile now when you find yerself in
need of said Ecode lens replacement already. 50-60k later, damn I
wouldacouldashoulda applied that lens film after all. Lenses nice 'n
gray again. Damn time flies. Crazy. 4 more weeks will be 4 years with
da pig. Maybe I'll fix my hydro leak so it doesn't sit another oh,
month.
There's that time flying again...
