Ah, comon! "Strict break-in"... "500 miles of low boost" ??

Run em like you stole 'em (assuming the engine management is set up right). The rings will seat just fine, and you'll feel it when it happens.

Think about race cars. Those engine builders usually say to break them in the way you intend to use them. On my engine, the sudden increase in power appeared at about 150 miles of use. Up to that point, I was running it at various levels between steady state, and WFO.

Naturally, break in is done with non-synthetic oil, usually changed to synthetic at about 500-1000 miles.

I'm happy to say that my rebuild (a simple re-ring with stock pistons) is still only using about 1/2 quart between 5k mile changes... and I think most of that 1/2 quart is ending up in my catch can.

I will have to go through a strict break-in on the stroker and then complete the AEM tuning. What are you running for electronics?

Yea, I'm going for 500 miles of low boost driving. That's goung to be hard! I'll be sticking with 034EFI running 5 remote mounted DIS coils and 65 lb injectors.
