What do you think I am? A master mechanic and electronics genius? (I
wish)

Nope. Just somebody who figured that there was no reason why it
shouldn't work if he could get the wiring right. Which I did. After
searching and researching a Jetta IV Bentley and our Bentley wiring
diagrams.

Got it right the first time, too. Started right up - just like normal.

Some luck, but mostly just plodding along, checking and re-checking.

Now that people have my instructions, it will be an afternoon's work.

(Dennis: How long did it take you, do you think?)

I would guess it took about 5 hours most of which was spent figuring out how
to loom all the wires, double checking wire identification, and making the 2
custom connectors for the 4 pin ECU terminals. Organizing the wires in a
loom and marking them so as to be certain which was which was my biggest
challenge. For loom material I used high temp wiring tubing I harvested from many
salvaged cars. It is common in several diameters on all the 5k cars now
populating the bone yards.
Pictures will have to wait another day (or 2) as I just started a new
position and time is getting precious.
