Anytime you have a positive pressure in the lower chamber for the wastegate, 
you will weaken the force of the spring. End of story.
I really never said there could not be a pressure above atmosphere at the 
wastegate port, but doing so would result in less boost then spring force 
alone.

This whole tread gives me things to look into as far as holding the 
wastegate closed on my set-up.
But as winter sets in once again, that will wait for spring I expect.

I will try to find a used WGFV, and cut in open to see hw it works.
