Jim:  I have been off-line for a few days and have just finished reading
all the posts I missed.  I may have missed it in your saga <queue Monty
Python Norse Sage music> BUT I didn't see whether you followed up on my
suggestion to swap the two pairs of ECU to POS/POS to coil connections.
If you do this, and its POS related, the miss will move from Cylinder 4
to  1, 2 or 3 (it isn't random, I am just to lazy to figure it out
again).  If it does move, you can swap the connectors back and then swap
Channel 4 to channel 6 (the spare POS channel).  If it doesn't move then
it is coil related for sure.

(The only flaw in the above is it could be a POS to coil wire or Coil
ground and then swapping channels would not help).

And, oh yeah, I wrote the 1.8t coil pack swap instructions.  I don't
know for sure whether the orange V8 coil packs will work or not.  I
imagine that they probably will.  I did check the price and they were
50% more than the 1.8t coil packs.
