Since you seem to think an internal cleaning may help, I have
heard good things about GM's Top End Cleaner, and also Seafoam's
variation. Think colonic for your combustion chamber. In use,
they blow a dense cloud of smoke out the tail pipe, so in a
typical suburban neighborhood, do it under cover of darkness. :)
You'll need to change your oil right after use, too. That should
get rid of any carbon build-up and may free up stuck rings, if
that is your problem.
Just my 2 cents, YMMV, etc.
