[s-cars] Clutch wear question

Another data point - just had the clutch removed from the S4 today. 270,000
kms on it. Felt a little "pop" in the pedal Friday and the clutch wouldn't
completely disengage after that. Good opportunity to practice clutchless
"rev-matching" shifting. The clutch disc is about half worn - lots of life
yet. The flywheel and pressure plate surfaces are in excellent condition. A
couple of pressure plate fingers had failed - pooched pressure plate.
Bit of a wrestle getting the tranny out, some uniquely positioned fasteners
in there...
Lots of $$$ parts on order - new rear main seal, tranny input shaft seal,
pressure plate, disc, release bearing, bearing guide sleeve, the list goes
on and on. I have a sharp intense pain in the vicinity of my wallet.
