I just came across a partial, and completely unscientific personal account

Hum,... sounds like a minimum of at least 3 bikes and several cars in less
than ???? an hour.
An argument against getting of the early starts? "... This is the first
time we have run in the morning and it looks completely different. What was
sunlit is now in deep shadow, and the descent onto Fuchsrohre is a gloomy
cave....." where bad things happen.
