[s-cars] Brake pedal firmness

All of the brake servo postings are encouraging me to ask a different brake
question. I sometimes drive 2 other vehicles, and compared to those, the S4
has very light steering and requires more force on the brake pedal. This
hasn't caused me any problem and the brakes seem to work just fine. But
when driving the S4 for the first time yesterday after 2 weeks with a rental
car, I found myself stepping on the brake with what seemed like a firm push,
and nothing happened. After 30 minutes or so I got myself recalibrated to
the brake pedal and all was normal again.
So my question for those who routinely drive other vehicles: Does the the
S4 take significantly more pressure on the brake pedal than the other cars?
This isn't a case of no brake boost at all. When doing the bomb depletion
test, the brake force changes from very firm to practically immovable. The
pedal force has been the same for the 3-1/2 years that I've had the car.
