there was the cadillac CTS-V, which gave you the fire-breathing LS6
from the Z06, a 6-speed, and 14" brembo brakes in a sensible 4-door sedan.
it even got a "Recommended" rating from consumer reports. unfortunately,
it lacks the refinement of the UrS4 and it doesn't come in AWD or as
a wagon.
lincoln was supposed to have a mclaren LS with a V8 and manual transmission,
but that hotrod version was axed, and the division concentrated on marketing
the LS to traditional lincoln buyers.
too bad we never got the RS6 avant here. we don't have many choices for
a fast wagon with AWD and a healthy dose of refinement (which eliminates
subarus and saabarus).
