Got a close look at the new Bentley, then entire Grill is plastic and seemed
incredibly fragile.  They still manage to weigh in at over 6000 pounds!  The
hood release jammed so I could not get a look at the W12.  Looks to me that
these cars will look a lot like a 10 year old Taurus in about, oh 12 years.

You're basically definining the type of car that Mercedes used to build in
the '70s and '80s- 20 year life cycle, all engineering driven, top-notch
construction.

With the high cost of stuff these days, very strong Euro and lots of
competition in the luxury market, I don't think you'll see a car like that
again. Everyone these days is so driven by the "latest $699/mo lease deal"
that with that type of disposable attitude, there is very little need to
make a car like that.

I can see why some people are so enamored by the '80s Mercedes (like you, I
still want a 500E).
Ironically enough the only Mercedes that qualifies for PCA membership. :-)
