Wow, that is horrible Jim! I hope people get the parts while they  
can, or the enthusiasts buy 'em up and make a clearing house foor  
others to purchase from.

re: the 540i Touring- i know it is gone now and should have said that  
before (mainly cause it saddened me more than anything ; ). but am i  
insane here, or *did* BMW offer the 535i Touring in a very limited  
edition all wheel drive (using diffs from 325xi) in around 1993- 95??  
I have looked this up before and cannot find my sources, but I have  
this vivid memory of an add from when i was a child about it.

might just be a case of un-remembering though....
