On another '93 S4, my PITA brother-in-law who has had me looking, twice, for
an ECU for him, has now apparently decided to DONATE the car. It has some
undefined cooling line/system problem that the dealwer in Westlake, CA
wanted to charge him $990 to repair over a year ago. So the car has been
sitting. He finally decided to fix it, but it would not start so he had it
towed back the dealer (Yes, I told him about Ingolstadt West) where they
told him the ECU was toast. Whether ot not it is, my only additional
involvement with him will be to find out what he'd sell it for when he
figures his tax deduction $$$. The dealer has told him that if he doesnt'
fix it, no one would want it and it will just get junked. He actually
called a yard hoping to get something for it and they said they'd charge him
to pick it up.
No one even wnats to consider the old cars, unless they already know them...
