So here's the good news. I got my money's worth out of the battery 
in my car. Two days ago I got the feeling that I was going to be 
in the market for a new battery...the car just wasn't starting 
with the zest it had in the past.

So this afternoon, in the middle of a very busy day, I stop at 
Sears for a cash and carry battery. I kinda wanted an Optima Red, 
but they didn't have anything that would work in my car.

So I bought a Diehard, and at the last minute, decided to have 
them install it for another $12. I pull into the shop, turn the 
car off while they're clearing a bay, and then go to start it.

Won't start. The battery is done. Toast. It had given me every 
start it ever was going to give me.

Talk about timing!

So the bad news is that despite the memory saver we hooked up to 
the cig lighter, my battery went into safe mode.

Is there anyplace I can get a radiocode via VIN other than the 
dealer?
