[s-cars] Max gap for spark testing

Hello all,
   I'm trying to verify that its one my coils causing
my miss under load and before I swap in a coil (that
Tom M was so kind to let me borrow..), I would like to
determine exactly which one it is. 
   Using a spark gap tool, what is the normal max gap
I should use to test a coil at max load? 40mm? I
believe my tool goes up to 45mm.

Any help would be great,
