I don't know if anyone of the Scars has done this, but I have my car insured
with Hagerty Insurance.

A little background. Hagerty used to only insure classic cars. I had my
914 insured with them for years. They do an "agreed to, value" on the cars
they insure. My 914 is a 73 2.0, with only 106,xxx on the clock I have it
insured for $8500.

Recently, Hargerty added another category to their insurance policy, Exotic.

So I talked to them about my 90 Coupe. It only has 76,XXX on the clock, 16
years old, less than 1700 in the country. and I have had it since 1996. I
have done a few mods to it, just about everything but the turbo motor. Ground
Control Coilovers(w/Kone and Eibachs), delrin control arm bushings, HR camber
bolts, 2B camber plates, 2B rear bar, 5X112 ABY S2 hubs and carriers, NuS6
wheels, S2 front(modified for larger grill openings) and rear bumpers, B4 hood,
British S2 gauges, S2 steering wheel, P&P head with 272 cams, modified TB,
etc, etc.

I have an agreed to value of $25,000 on the car with Hargerty. I sent them
a list of every modification I have done to the car, along with a full set of
pictures showing everything.

Since I have insured the car for this value, if someone else is the cause of
an accident, there is no dispute as to the worth of the car.

Now granted, this is not a daily driver, but it is driven. They do not
insure my track days, but do insure it while being driven, in the garage, on my
trailer, etc..

This cost me less than $600 a year. Might be worth a look.

Greetings Fellow S//folk

I am really bummed. A couple of Sundays ago, a minivan driven by an
individual whose head was deeply inserted into his posterior orifice
attempted to make a left turn from the far right lane, crossing 4 lanes of
traffic before the intersection. Unfortunately, I was going straight in the
left lane. In spite of my (and the 4 pot AP brakes) best efforts, his rear
driver's side bumper corner hit my passenger headlight, doing enough damage
to total the car. I was in the car with my wife and two kids, everybody is
fine, and I am thankful for that.

I cannot express with enough sarcasm what a joy it has been dealing with
insurance company reps, cops, body shops (the car was initially deemed
fixable, until the shop opened up the hood, and found the radiator came into
contact with the spinny engine bits) in New York.

So now I'm reaching out to the list for any info on recent purchases of 95.5
Avants. Especially Europa ones with 90K miles full RS2 (EM, Turbo,
Injectors, MAF, 3bar software, Samcos, Hyperboost BPV, Eibach/bilstein, rear
torsen diff, Stromung) as mine was equipped. I am trying to work with the
adjuster to establish the car's value based on past sales. I understand
there is a registry that was compiled with this purpose in mind, but I could
not locate any reference to this on the s-car site. Any help, or friendly
advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

Serge Filanovsky
